Tonight is "Open House" at preschool.

Avery woke up this morning and said, "Mommy...today is the night where I get to meet all my school friends! And, today is the last day I stay home. Tomorrow I go to school!!!!"

We're excited for her, we're nervous for her, and most of all, I don't know what emotions I will be feeling tomorrow morning at 8:20 when I hug her and say, "See you in 3 hours"...

I was looking through my old posts the other day, and I came across these 2...

It will be such a sad day...
I did it...sigh...

Not to be a total bummer and rush her growing up or anything, but how old are they when they start Kindergarten up there? Down here, they have to be 5 by Aug. 31st to start Kindergarten and the good thing is we are one of the last places that still has half day Kindergarten, so they only go for 2 1/2 hours a day.

I'm like you though, I don't like going anywhere without my kids! There are only a select few I trust with them for a long period of time. I have two step kids who I have sent off to school for many years but I don't know how I'm going to feel when my 2 1/2 year old goes off to Pre-K. I don't even want to think about it. He's one of my best friends and I don't know who I'll talk to during the day once he gets in school! I guess by then, my 6 month old will be able to carry on a converstation with me...let's hope so!

I love reading your blog, your girls are adorable!

I know I'll be so emotional tomorrow dropping Kayla off. And it's SO compounded by the food allergies. I don't think I'd feel the terror if she wasn't allergic. Such a huge range of emotions! Part of me just can't believe school starts TOMORROW!!!

Good luck tomorrow - you'll do great and so will Avery!

Hey...they have to be 5 here by September 5th I think. Avery was 5 in July, so next year when she goes to kindergarten, she'll be 6.

At least you'll be able to use this year as a transition year. When she is in Kindergarten, hopefully you'll be able to volunteer in her class and still get to see her all the time.

Oh Jennisa! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. I can't even think of Devyn going to school without getting a lump in my throat. And she's a good three years away! Whew! Good luck tonight and tomorrow!
