Avery's new words

WORD GIRL, also knows as AVERY Avery has been using some new words around the house. Here they are, with the meanings she gives me. I'm glad for educational computer websites. She learned these all from playing "Word Girl"

Cumbersome: bulky and heavy

Barnaby: cruel and crooked, and crooked means very mean

Flabbergasted: so surprised that you can't think or talk

Vicious: Violent and mean

Holler: go close to someone and say "everyone duck!"

Dodge: to get on top of something big of something that's falling, and then you'll be safe

I think she's far more advanced then I was at this age. When I was 5, and my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said a mushroom....seriously, I did. Ask Avery what she wants to be, and I think a mushroom is the furthest thing from her mind....

~~I just asked her what she wants to be when she grows up, and she said an "Orphan Sitter". She said, "If there was kids who didn't have any parents I would take care of them"

When my daughter was in Kindergarten and was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her response was a "Walmart Cart Pusher". We have high expectations in our household :)

Avery is VERY smart and I think I might have to use that website for my little ones, thanks!
