gymnastics class ~ lesson 1

9:32 PM

I took Avery to her very first gymnastics class tonight. She had an hour packed with fun! There are WAY too many pictures here...this I know. Daddy and Nana both weren't there, and I'm sure they would like to relive our hour of fun with us! :)

Avery did very good hanging onto the bar all alone!

This is one of her favorite things to do there! Hang on the bar, and then.....

drop into the "pit" full of foam squares!!!

There is my lil' gymnast!

Learning how to do a back somersault!

Bounce...Bounce.....

Trying to get up on her hands...still needs to work on that one!!!

Front somersault!

Gol, I just loved watching this little girl all night!
Check THAT out!!! Those who know Avery, would think she would be to scared for this, but NOPE...She LOVED it!

"Avery...what did you love the MOST tonight?"
"EVERYTHING", she said!!!!!

The next round of our visitors!

6:29 PM

Uncle Josh and Aunt Kathryn arrived at our house on last night! We started off with a fun day on today! Lunch out at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and then...BOWLING!!! I was SHOCKED when the man at the counter told me that Liv could bowl. WOW!! What fun we had!

This was Avery's 2nd time bowling. She still hasn't gotten that strike, but she's working hard at it!

Uncle Josh helping Livvie out!

She loved to push the ball off that ramp thing. She'd just stand there and watch the ball roll...

and then realize that this bar thing was kind of fun to hang on, too...

And, the lane too tempting not to try and crawl on it!

Avery, of course, picked out a PINK ball!

This time, she would set up the ball on the ramp, run back to where we were, and then get a running start to her ball. I guess that gave her extra "pushing" strength!

When it wasn't Livvie's turn, she just walked around.....she is looking more and more like a big girl and not my little baby anymore!

Chattin' it up with Aunt Kathryn!

Avery has her first gymnastics lesson tonight, so we're SO excited about that! I'm sure I'll be back with more pictures! :)

Nana's visit!

3:16 PM

We had a very fun time with Nana Dianne! We wish she didn't live 5 1/2 hours away, that's for sure!

Nana made Avery her Eloise birthday outfit, and Avery got in on learning how to sew a little bit!

We were outside a lot. Sorry Bapa Ron....the girls LOVE this John Deere tractor thing that the next door neighbor boys have!

Our neighbors puppy Miley LOVED playing with Nana's puppy Mesa

Avery showed off on her new Ariel bike.

I dressed the girls in matching shirts for Church on Sunday, and had to take some photos of them!

And one with Nana Dianne! I put 3 different photos together to get this one, so when you see that her neck is all "off", that's why...I didn't want to spend anymore time on it! :)

Saturday night Wedding

11:05 PM

It was such a beautiful day outside...a perfect day for such a pretty wedding....

Isn't Libby just beautiful?

We got pretty rowdy with our friends Ashley and Dustin...good times....

My family. Livvie stayed home with my mother. No way we could have sat still with that little tornado on the loose!

Love my Avery!

Mmmm...carrot cake....good.....

The bride and groom!

Avery and I shakin' it....my hubby took this picture...not sure why he cut my head off, but whatever! He was probably just flustered by the way his wife was movin' it :)

This was one of the most beautiful flower girl dresses I've ever seen! Check out the flowers in each layer of the bow! It was so pretty!
With all the fun we had, we still got home by 8:45...we stay out so late, don't we?

Week in review...

10:14 PM

It has been an eventful week...

a couple blog-worthy things I have forgotten to blog about are:

*Liv getting bull-dozed as she stepped behind Avery while she was swinging. The back of Liv's head hit the swing, and the other side hit the grass....hard...she's okay, thank God!

*Shopping for Avery's Eloise birthday party. We had a sample invitation printed, bought some fun decorations, and have gotten some fun ideas in mind. Nana Dianne even made her the most adorable Eloise uniform/outfit for the party...too too cute!

*Nana Dianne is here! She came on Thursday, and is leaving on Sunday. She brought Mesa (puppy) with her, and we are enjoying our time with both of them. My brother and his wife will be coming on Sunday night until Tuesday.

*My husband is performing another wedding tomorrow of a young couple from our church. Mom is going to watch the girls, and hubby and I are going to enjoy some freedom...I'm gonna come home and get Avery for the dance though...she likes to 'shake it'.... :)

*Liv got hurt again today...None of us saw her, but we think she tripped and did a face plant into the wood floor. Her mouth was a bloody mess...thank God hubby and my mom were here. She sliced that skin thingy that connects your top lip to your gums. Poor Livvie. She has a nice fat lip, for sure. I told hubby that I'm not cut out to be a mom of this kind of child...one that is so messy, active, and accident prone. I love her to pieces, though.....just wish she'd settle down a bit! :)

Think that's it! Have a great weekend everyone!

chocolate, rashes and doctors, OH MY!

9:19 PM

We just got home from an eventful night at the ER. Again, I'm ticked because our little town does NOT have an after hours care service, so we HAVE to go the ER with everything...ugh...

Anyhow, back to the story here at hand.

Avery had neighbor girl over, and they were just casually playing at the table. Avery said, "Mom...this chair feels sticky and slimy like a worm." So, I walk over, see that the chair is sticky, wiped off Avery's legs and arms, and the chair. I noticed she had a little brown chocolate on her arm, and I also wiped that off. She must have just bumped up to some chocolate smear on the table left by Liv or myself....

10 minutes later....Avery says, "Mom...I'm really itchy". I look at her, and no lie, I had to do a double take. Her arm was full of what I call "welts", and also the back of her left leg. I'm the sort of mom that freaks out, so I immediately got a wet washcloth and wrapped up her arm, got the girls in the van, and off to the ER we went.

They gave her a nice big dose of benadryl, and some prescription ointment, and we're back home. Whew....

She hasn't had a reaction like this since she was around a year old. It's just CRAZY that she can break out THAT much, from just chocolate touching her body...are you kidding me?

She is now fully bathed, gooed up with ointment, and off to bed. I pray this will not happen anytime soon again...

5:08 PM

You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me, but I WAS in gymnastics for 6 summers when I was younger. Avery's preschool teacher encouraged me to get her involved in some summer activities to improve her social skills (yes, she is a singing diva, a reading champ, a funny gal, but she is a little shy to others).

I just enrolled Avery in a 10 week gymnastics class here in town. We went over and the coach took us through the whole place, and let Avery practice on all of the equipment. She is VERY excited!

Now, I'm off to find some fabulous leotards! :)

yet another teeth update.....

12:55 PM

WEEK 1

WEEK 2

WEEK 3

WEEK 4 - yesterday.....OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!!!

check out that molar that's cutting through in the back....holy cow...yowza!

no good day

10:00 PM

It's 10 pm, and I can say it.....today, almost the WHOLE day, has been a no good day.

It started out yesterday when I went to Walmart to get my refill of my daily headache medicine. Turns out I was out of refills, and so I had to wait till TODAY to get my pills. That meant no headache medicine for 24 hours.

I woke up this morning with a monster of a headache...I knew it was coming, but all the Excedrin in the world wouldn't of helped this one.

Luckily my husband stayed home today, and let me out of some of my mommy duties. I have been in my pj's, and laying down the majority of the day. What a waste of a day...

Here's hoping this night of sleep will take the edge off....Man, I just hate headaches!

The planning has begun!

12:04 AM

Avery and I decided on her 6th birthday party theme. She really wanted a Hannah Montana party, but considering that she will only be SIX, we decided on something MUCH better...ELOISE!

So, if any of y'all know where to get all things Eloise, let me know! :) It's gonna be a day full of pink, I tell ya! :) I'm WAY excited! I started designing her invitations, and they are gonna be so cute!

We're excited for this 'rawther fabulous party', as Eloise would say...

in our backyard...

6:21 PM

This lil' guy brought shrieks, squeals, and screams from Livie. He was so close, and so cute!

I learned a new photo technique with the picture of the girls....lots of you know it already, but it was new to me. Making the background black and white, and the subject in color...I'm going to have fun with that!

Swimming and some GREAT news!

3:42 PM

I took Avery over to the wading pool today. There were no other kiddos there that were HER age, because they were all in the BIG pool, splashing away. Lil' miss Avery is content to wade around in the wading pool, and not getting a single part of her bathing suit wet. Ohh, Avery...when are you going to just jump in and LOVE swimming???

AND, for the GREAT news.....I got a letter in the mail today from the School District, and Avery was assigned to one of the teachers that I wanted! WHOO HOO! Also, her class has only 20 children (10 boys 10 girls), and one of the little girls is from her Pre-K class! I'm SOO happy!!!

Liv's teeth update...

9:18 PM

because I know everyone who checks in on my blog is just dying to see updated weekly photos of all these teeth coming through. :)

I have to tell ya....I'm surprised how long they take to work there way out. OUCH!

this first photo, I blurred out the yellow chunks of food in her mouth...

Here are her top teeth....

And here are her bottom teeth...

I have to say, that considering the pain she must be going through for the past 3-4 weeks, she's been particularly good. She has her episodes, but we haven't had to give her large doses of Tylenol at all. Good girl, my Livvie

a couple new toys...

5:27 PM

While visiting Nana and Bapa, we stopped in and bought Avery a new bike! My little girl outgrew her first bike, so we moved her on up to a new one! She just HAD to have the Ariel bike. Good thing we got it for $20 off!

And, if you want another deal...
Avery had wanted this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse since her last birthday. There was NO way I was going to pay $40 for it, but.....while we were at KMart getting her bike, we found it on the clearance rack for 50% off! I love a bargain!

You've got a mouth full of words, my dear

1:12 PM

My Sweet Avery....
I am so very proud of you. You are such a smartie pants. Here are some words that you were able to read this last week....
*perseverance
*specific
*responsibility
*subjects
*requested
*enormous
*surrounded
*adjusted
