It's such a fun time of the year...

Being sick last week, we found a channel that was very family friendly...ABC Family Channel! The great news is that they're doing this fun 25 days of Christmas thing, where they play Christmas movies all the time! We've had fun watching the old Christmas movies I watched as a kid, and some of the new ones, like Polar Express, have been on too!

What I wasn't expecting, is how quickly my little 5 year old daughter's brain hears and remembers things...

For example...

On the way home from church Sunday, she said to me, "Mom...I'm SO excited to watch "Holiday in Handcuffs" tonight!" Turns out, there was a fun TV movie that was advertised, and she picked up on it...She didn't watch it, in case you're wondering! (Even though it looked kinda cute...for grown ups!)

If that wasn't enough, this one is great....

Avery: "Mom....Next Saturday I'm going to watch the Snow globe show" (also a small TV movie on ABC Family that was being advertised).
Me: "Oh really?"
Avery: "Uh-uh...that's the one where she's stuck in a freakin' snow globe"...

yes, my innocent 5 year old said freakin'.....Again, overheard from a commercial! UGH!!!

ABC Family, we have really enjoyed your Christmas shows, but man oh man.....those commercials, I could do without!

We totally love that channel. However, they do, on occasion, show movies like Cruel Intentions. Not always 'family friendly.'

I LOVED Holiday in Handcuffs! :) But good call on not letting Avery watch it - you'd have even more words to explain. I recorded Polar Express when they aired it, but when Sam spotted "the train movie" at Target I jumped at the chance to get it for only $10 because then he could stop watching the commercials from the taped version.
We've been watching all the old classics too. It IS such a fun time of year and when it's bitter cold out, there's nothing like snuggling with your kids while watching Frosty. Even Julia gets excited when the intro music starts. I'm hoping it won't be traumatic when I pull the plug on so much tv after the holidays are over.

How cute! We've been DVR-ing the shows on that channel that sound interesting. My daughter doesn't watch "regular" tv BECAUSE of the commercials! When we watch them on the DVR, we just fast forward through the commercials.

Christmas movies are so much fun!

She certainly has some sort of photographic memory

that's FREAKIN hilarious! Annie has said MUCH worse from my mom watching LAw and Order - you just don't think they are paying attention or absorbing it like they are!

She's so funny!! You don't realize how bad shows are, until it's too late. Jalyn likes to watch Grey's with me, but she knows to cover her eyes when people start kissing. lol.

You need Tivo... then there are no commercials!

Yes, that channel is incredibly dangerous. Devyn does the same thing!

We got your Christmas card, thanks for including us on your list. It was a beautiful picture of your girls!
