results are in, and they are no good

I took the girls in for a 10:10 dr appt this morning.

Within 20 minutes, they were both diagnosed....

Here are some of the meds....trying to keep them all separate...

Liv
1. double ear infection (the dr said her ears were "bulging"...can't be good)
2. RSV....very congested breathing, and wheezy

TREATMENT:
1. antibiotics twice a day
2. oral steroids twice a day
3. nebulizer treatment every 4 hours

Avery
RSV...close to pneumonia, but we caught it.

TREATMENT:
1. antibiotics twice a day
2. oral steroids twice a day
3. nebulizer treatments every 4 hours
4. Home from school till at least Thursday

I can't put in words how sick I am of the germs Avery is getting from school. The dr. said because of her food allergies/lack of nutrition she has a very low immune system and will most likely pick up every illness she comes in contact with. Hopefully with all the times she has been sick this winter, her immunity will be super strong...

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that! But, I am always glad to go to the doctor and hear it is SOMETHING, and get medicine for it, rather than hear, "It's just a virus." Poor girls, hope they are feeling better soon!

Sorry life is tough right now. I'm sure you feel chaotic trying to get everyone's medicine to them on time and keep up with everything else around the house.

Elijah is on his fourth round of antibiotics for ear infections. He's gettin tubes put in this Friday morning. Now I just have to add another kid and I would know exactly how you feel. :)

You poor thing. I can totally relate to trying to keep two kids meds seperate. Here's a tip that worked for me. I took a sharpie and wrote on the label when they were supposed to take it and listed each day. Then as I gave each child their medicine, I checked it off and then there was no question if I remembered to give someone their medicine.
Good Luck! I'll try to send the get well fairy your way but she's slacking on the job lately.

Ohhhh Jennisa you poor mommy! I think bulging ears are when so much fluid is pressing from behind the eardrum, the eardrum bulges out. I cannot believe Livvie isn't screaming in pain! Or, maybe she is?

Poor sick girlies... I am SO hoping and praying that the meds work asap - that you can all get some sleep and feel better soon. Jennisa, do you need to go to the doctor too?

How are you going to keep from getting this sick every year with Avery's issues? Does she take vitamins or supplements or something? Maybe homeschooling is in order....She'd probably excell way beyond what you thought possible!

Have you ever tried juice plus? My daughter was the same way when she was in preschool and some of kindergarden. It did wonders with her immunity--colds would go around and she would actually not get some sometimes. Other times, when she did get it, it wouldn't be as bad as it usually was--ie: breathing treaments and antibiotics. Typically, she was always sick and always got every virus, but would get it way worse than everyone else.

It isn't a fix, it just helps a lot. She does have a chronic disease and takes a boatload of medication everyday even when she's well--but for this one part of her problem (picking up every germ, low immunity)--the juice plus made a huge difference.

Hope this helps : )

Poor things! Have you tried garlic oil for the ear infection? It's supposed to work wonders. Probiotics are also good to give them so the antibiotics don't kill the good bacteria. Hope they feel better soon. You do a great job on blogs!

I found your blog through McKMama's blog. I know how you feel about the kids being sick. We have a son who has asthma and since he was 2 was hospitalized every winter twice a winter. One year he had 6 rounds of antibiotics in 2 months. I don't usually do this but I will share with you what worked for us. We tried Mannabears this winter for the first time. He did not get sick! No pneumonia, no bronchitis, no nebulizers. He got tonsillitis...but that is easy to deal with. He got one ONE runny nose! He is in Kindergarten so I was really worried about all the stuff he would bring home. Up until now he was catching what his older sister was bringing home from school. I would say it was the best thing we did. Mannabears are all natural and food based not herb. They replace key nutrients your body needs to have its cells communicate properly. You can read about the ingredients here: https://www.mannatech.com/Resources/en/ca/pdf/products/CanMannaBears.pdf

And some reviews here: http://www.nutritionaltree.com/reviews/children/other/mannatech_mannabears.aspx

If you buy through Mannatech then they have a promo right now that is buy one get one free! One bottle is $30.00. We have been so happy with the results. If you want more info let me know.
They really have changed our life.

I realize I sound like an ad. Sorry about that! Good luck with your kiddos! And God bless you in your ministry. My husband and I were youth pastors for 6 years. It is a hard, rewarding job!
