Luckily I have never been called, but I swear my hubby gets called ALL the time. Like every 2 yrs it seems. I think it might be the minority thing with him, but I don't know what your problem would be :)

You can get out of it since you're a stay at home mom. I think that is why my mom kept having kids, so she always had a reason to get out of Jury duty :)

I've been called twice too. The first time I took time off of work, drove to Madison, figured out parking, sat in a room full of people and then got sent home.

The next time I wrote a letter to get out of it. Worked like a charm.

Did you get on a trial the first time?

Good Luck! Maybe they won't pick you!

This summer I had was selected to be on a Jury and they loaded the 14 of us on a bus after giving us 1 1/2 hour to pack our bags. They searched our bags and took us to a different town 3 hours away. I was stuck in either a court room or hotel room for 3 days. I was able to call home, but the calls were screened. It was an interesting experience and one that I will never forget!

Knock on wood... I'm 29 and I've never been called.

Can't you say you can't do it since you are a stay at home mom? Not that you want to get out of it, but since your kiddos need someone to take care of them and all :)

I have only been called up once and I had a really good excuse for not going. I lived in another state! I was still registered to vote here in Easton when the girls and I were living up in Massachusetts two years ago. Made commuting a bit difficult.

Good luck to you!

I am one of those insane people that love jury duty. I have never been picked for regular jury duty, but I have been on the Grand Jury for different times. Just finished my 4th term in December. It is a 3 month term and is one of the most interesting things I have done in my life. The worst part of regular jury duty is waiting and wasting your time. Grand Jury is completely different. If you get a chance for that, give it a try.
