Mother's Day

8:27 PM

My Mother's Day was kinda rotten....I had a nasty headache until about 5 pm, so I spent most of the day in my bed.  Olivia was so sweet to go and pick me some flowers :)

They also each made me something special at school.  This here is from Livie :)

And, Avery's....the cats out of the bag that i have a sleeping obsession i guess :)

Such sweet girls!  I am blessed!

Happy Mother's Day!

9:39 AM

A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life.  She feared she was wasting her potential being a devoted wife and mother.

She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband and children would make a difference.

At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go unnoticed and unappreciated. "Is it worth it?" she often wondered.  "Is there something better that I could be doing with my time?"

It was during these moments of questioning that she heard the still, small voice of her heavenly Father speak to her heart.  "You are a wife and mother because that is what I HAVE CALLED YOU TO BE.

Much of what you do is hidden from the public eye.  BUT I NOTICE.

Most of what you give is done without remuneration.  BUT I AM YOUR REWARD.

Your husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support.  Your influence upon him is greater than you think and more powerful than you will ever know.

I bless him through your service and honor him through your love.  Your children are precious to Me.  Even more precious than they are to you.

I have entrusted them to your care to raise for Me.  WHAT YOU INVEST IN THEM IS AN OFFERING TO ME.

You may never be in the public spotlight, but your obedience shines as a bright light before Me.  CONTINUE ON.

Remember you are My servant.  DO ALL TO PLEASE ME."

12 Weeks

9:00 PM

May 4 - 10

It has been a better week.  The gall bladder pain is subsiding which is wonderful.  I had my 12 week appt today, and I have gained another 3 lbs.  That makes a total of 13 I believe in the first trimester.  Good grief...not fun!  The baby's heartbeat was 150-155 bpm, and it's always such a wonderful sound!  So happy to be out of the first trimester, and out of the danger zone!  :)

This week purchases:  baby tub, high chair, drying rack, baby girl bedding (I already have a boy set that was on sale...), diapers, wipes, bottles, activity mat.... (we already have gotten: crib, changing table, boppy, swing)  It's fun getting prepared!  Not one item was full price, and most gently used...that's how I roll :)  Baby on a budget!!!

How far along: 12 weeks
Total weight gain: 13 lbs
Maternity clothes: yes
Stretch marks: no new ones...yet!

Movement: nope
Food cravings: nothing too crazy...i just like to eat
Have you started to show yet: um, yes
Gender: 8 more weeks till we know
Happy or moody most of the time: both...i'm quicker to yell, and am moody more often.
Looking forward to: feeling movement, finding out gender!

Bowling fun!

8:48 PM

Avery's school enrichment class had a field trip today, in which they would have had to leave town at 4:30 am, and return home after 10 pm.  No field trip is worth that long of a day, so we decided to keep Avery home!  We did, however, let the girls have their own fun instead! :)

Birthday Party FUN

8:45 PM

Olivia got to go to her friend Cassie's birthday party on Saturday!  Boy, did she have a fun time!  Who wouldn't with a whole room full of jumpies? ;)

Avery's 4th grade Orchestra concert

11:31 PM

Avery had her spring concert on Tuesday night.

They all did such a good job and showed so much improvement since their winter concert!

happenings

11:29 PM

The girls and daddy bought me a dozen red roses for my 34th birthday ;)  They were oh so beautiful!

Nana Dianne and Bapa Craig bought daddy and I this fabulous chair for our birthdays/anniversary gift.  It will be great for rocking this little baby that's a'growing!

Winnie got shaved last week.  I wanted her to stay a bit longer, but she gets so darn matted.  Oh well!

Avery had to make a "float" on a state, and she chose Louisiana...specifically Mardi Gras!  We spent NO money on this project!  I was very happy about that!!!

pregnancy

11 Weeks

4:32 PM

May 3 - 9

crazy to think that I'm carrying around a baby the size of a lime now! :)  It sure shows though!  I read that at 11 weeks, the uterus is about the size of a softball.  Sure looks like I'm carrying more than that! :)  Darn bloating!  Can't imagine what this will look like in 10 more weeks!

probably something crazy like this: :)

My recovery has been going ok.  Still sensitive in the gall bladder, and feeling surges of pain at times.  Very bloated and gassy, can't really lay down flat, and a bit of pain when i'm hungry and after I eat in the gall bladder area.  I have an appointment on Monday with a surgeon, so we will probably know more next week what is in store for that darn gall bladder of mine!

Symptoms:  bloated, some pain, gassy, tired, headaches

pregnancy

10 Weeks

5:11 PM

Well, this week has been very very eventful!  To start, we're at 10 weeks!  :)

Wednesday, I started having stomach pain, and it got progressively worse quickly.  I decided that since I could barely function or stand up, I needed to go to the doctor.  I dropped the girls off at church, and barely made it over to the clinic.  They did a lot of tests, and decided that I needed to go to the hospital because my white blood count was elevated, and there is some sort of infection.

So, off we went 45 minutes later to the hospital.  The ER took FOREVER to get me in a room and get me any sort of pain relief.  I was in such pain, and was ready for it to be OVER!  I finally received morphine, and then they were able to do an ultrasound to see what was going on.  Turns out my gall bladder is full of stones, and one made it's way out into a bile duct.  That stone was blocking bile from getting where it needed to be.  So, we were admitted.  They decided to take that stone out, and put in a stent to help the other stones not get stuck.  The gall bladder will need to come out sooner than later, but this will buy us some time.  I was in the hospital through Friday evening, and was very excited to come home.  The only good thing about being in the hospital is that we got to see our baby over and over and over!  Here is the latest photo:

Baby was measuring 11 weeks 2 days, so that was nice.

Symptoms:  gall bladder pain, bloated

Art Show

5:02 PM

Avery's art was on exhibit in April at the Arts Council!  Such fun to go and see all of the student artwork!

ABC Parade

Olivia had a ABC Parade at school last week!  She was "O"!  Aren't they all so cute!

pregnancy

9 weeks

7:20 PM

 April 19 - April 25

I had my doctor appointment on the 18th.  Since the doctor said he probably could not locate the heartbeat with his doppler, he sent me over for another ultrasound!  Seriously loving this doctor and how nice he is! ;)

The ultrasound girl found baby right away, and we were able to see it moving around!  It's little head was moving back and forth, and the arms and legs were jerking around too!  So amazing!

Baby's heartbeat measured at 168 bpm, so we've got a healthy little baby on our hands!

Also at my appt, they weighed me....ugh.  I have gained about 8 lbs so far, and it's not making me very happy!  When I get hungry, I have to eat RIGHT AWAY or else my tummy hurts.  So, this has caused some weight gain that I'm not too pleased with.  Hoping that most of it is water weight! ha!

Symptoms:  "off", headaches, some acne (yuck), weight gain, bloating, chesty

pregnancy

8 weeks

with your 3rd pregnancy they say you grow faster, but man....lots of bloating and water weight here, and a bit of baby!

pregnancy

Pregnancy thus far...

7:00 PM

I got a stomach "bug" on March 7th.  It was some kind of awful!  I had awful back pain, a huge bloated tummy that was sore to the touch, and then the throwing up.  I took a test during one of my toilet times, and after a couple minutes threw it in the trash because it was negative.  I went back in later in the day, and for some reason, grabbed the test out of the trash.  When I saw the extremely faint line, I could barely believe it.

The sickness went away the next day.  I showed Daddy the test, and said that it "could be" the culprit.  I decided to go in and have a blood test to see if I was pregnant.  Much to my surprise, the blood test was negative.  I was baffled, because the urine tests were showing positive.  I then realized that I must be sooooo early that the blood test didn't show up yet.   Anyhow, around 2:30 the stomach pain came back again with a vengeance.    I went through 4 hours of the horrible stomach pain again, and I was searching for some pain relief.  Nothing worked, and it was just no fun at all...

During these days, I continued to test...just to see if the line was getting darker, and sure enough, it was...

Turns out the culprit was a UTI.  I should have known, as that is what I had when I found out I was expecting Avery, and had them with Olivia, too.  I never have them when I'm NOT pregnant.  So I put 2 and 2 together, and went in on Saturday the 9th and got some antibiotics.  I talked to the doctor about the negative blood test, and positive pregnancy tests, and actually brought in all of the tests to show him.  He told me that I was pregnant....wow...

So, that's how we found out we were expecting......again.  Shocked, excited, surprised, scared, worried.....that's how we felt, and are still feeling!

March 8 - 14   /   March 15 - 21
During these weeks, we kept the pregnancy a secret.  I believe we told a couple of family and friends.

Symptoms:  sore chest, cramping, forgetfulness

March 21 - 28

This week I had my first doctor appointment on March 21st.  They sent me to ultrasound to see how far along I was.  At that time, they saw the gestational sac, with a small yolk sack growing.  She roughly estimated that I was 5 wks 2 days.

Symptoms:  bloated, sore chest

March 29 - April 4

This week the girls and I met up with Nana Dianne for our fun Girls weekend.  I had another ultrasound scheduled for March 29th.  At this appointment, she was able to see the flutter of the heart, and said the heartbeat was around 175 bpm!  She measured again, and put me at 6 weeks exactly, putting our due date November 22, 2013.

Symptoms:  tired, bloated, sore chest, hungry, gaining weight :(
We told the girls in their Easter Baskets that they were both going to be big sisters.  I put an ultrasound photo along with shirts I made for them in their baskets.  We have lots of photos and video of their reactions!  So fun!

April 5 - 11

This week we announced that we were expecting.  Olivia was not able to keep a secret very well, and I was getting texts and questions about it.  Also, we found out that my brother and sister in law were also pregnant, so we announced at the SAME time on Facebook, which was fun.

Symptoms:  so hungry, bloated, sore chest
