I just went back and read your chicken nugget posts. Wow, I can't imagine how frustrating that is. But, yay for Avery!!! Hopefully that chicken nugget will open up new doors in the food department for her.

I don't know if this will be helpful or if I am going to offend you...so I hope it's helpful.
Shannon was a picky little girlie and when we came back from China and started eating food...WOW!!!! It was awful.
I had been working with a child psychologist for a while when I brought up the eating subjrct. And this is what they told me.
Children eat when they are hungry. I thought " whatever, she's going to starve before she eats." What I didn't realize is how much a control issue food was. When I would make PB and J Shannon would only want PB, that was fine. But when I made dinner she would freak out and not want to eat and demand a PB sandwich. After awhile a child can't live off of PB. So... the psychologist explained to me that I was just feeding..no pun intended into her need for control. I started making meals and not giving her a choice if she didn't like it. It was hard at first watching your kiddo not eat. Food is love and we love our children. But in time she became more adventurous and now eats a large variety.
I told Shannon that she had to eat the number of bite according to her age of everything on her plate and THEN I would give her a PB sandwich...in about a month it became less of a struggle and about 3 months into it she would eat everything and still want a PB sandwich. Maybe you could try that and see if it works out.

We just got Justice to start eating Chicken Nuggets. When we would eat out, she only wanted to eat french fries. Now Im happy I can at least order her someone other than that :)

My daughter, who is also named Avery, had the same allergies. She is now 6 and LOVES to eat, but it was really hard. My son who has no allergies hates food and will only eat about 5 different items. We have been working on expanding that...He will eat and entire head of broccoli, but wont eat a single french fry or slice of bread.

Amen, Salsygirl!

Maybe Avery wants vegetables instead of fast food. McD's seems like a crazy place to get her to eat if she doesn't want to!
