Texas Trip Day 6 (Tuesday) (also known as our trip to WACO - MAGNOLIA )
7:06 PM
Man, we were looking forward to this day for a while! We loaded up the Armada with all 8 of us, and I drove us down to Waco for the day to go to Magnolia!!!!!
We entered Waco, and immediately saw the ALICO building that is shown often on the Fixer Upper show!
We were fortunate enough to go on a day that was overcast, and a Tuesday, so we were hoping it wouldn't be all that crazy at the Silos!
We found parking a couple blocks away! WHOO HOO! (although later we realized that I parked the wrong direction on a one way...OOPS!)
Here we are....and here they are! THE SILOS!!!
We didn't do any Waco tours, because I was going to attempt to be the tour guide for our little group!
But, they were super nice, and posed for a picture!
This is kind of the first thing you see as you come around to the Silos! When we came there was a long line, and when we left there was a long line, so we just didn't go in at all!
Heidi was such a great sport! She's never seen the show, and knows nothing about what we were oohing and ahhing over, but she sure seemed like she had a good time!
We may or may not have been squealing a bit :)
So many fun places to take pictures!!!
We were right about coming on this day! We were so fortunate to have it be 77, and a bit windy. It rained also, which we could have done without, but it helped keep folks away, which was great!!!
Our first "store" we went into was the Seed & Supply store!
My jaw was on the floor looking at the prices...I just could not believe how expensive this stuff was!!!
Finn held up random things for me so I could remember to try to figure out how to make my own version (instead of paying $26)
We did end up getting some #demoday stickers, a pencil and a hat here! :)
We went out and played a bit on the grass field! So thankful this was here, as it was a great place for the kids to run off steam!
Adalynn and Finn just played away in the rain! They were so fun to watch!
We finally were wet enough, and got under the shelter and looked around for what to eat! That "DOG HOUSE" food truck below? The lady who was working it was in Season 4 Episode 2 of Fixer Upper. She was kinda the only "TV STAR" we saw that day! :)
The food was also expensive, but what do ya do?
It cleared up a bit, so we ended up going back out and having MORE FUN!!!!
Time to enter THE store!!! :)
Again....I could not believe how expensive everything was!
I had my eye on this fun cute green thing....it was $18. So, nope! :(
Those cursive words? $34..... ???????wow....
This was cute! I think paper flowers are super fun!
We had Finn in a stroller, so we took the elevator down to the lower level!
We did buy 3 hats...
We also bought a shirt for each person in our family. And, I had to close my eyes as I was checking out, or I would have fainted.....
These girls were our cashiers, and were soooo nice!
We had to go back upstairs to sign the guestbook :)
The sun was peeking out again, just in time for us to say our goodbyes to the Silos! We had been there for HOURS...it's so easy to do!
Next up was our car tour :) I may or may not have accidentally taken us to the wrong place...twice.
But, I ended up taking our crew to a few good places!!! :)
The FIRST Magnolia location!!!
Next, we drove around to peek at a few of the homes Chip and Joanna did on the show!
This home was the first show.... Season 1 Episode 1
We then drove to see this home, which was Season 3 Episode 11 :)
Our next stop was to see Harp Design Co. and Clint's old home!!!
We went around back to see if we could find Clint, but of course...nope! We did chat with some of these workers, though!
We signed the guestbook here, and enjoyed looking around at all the fun items in the store!!!
Next, was a bit looooooooong.......
I put an address into my GPS, and I thought we were going to Jimmy Don's shop. When we ended up at the address, we were at Cedar Chest Antique Mall in McGregor!
This is the antique shop that Chip and Jo shop at on the show from time to time!!!
They were so helpful to us! They gave us directions to go and see the Magnolia Bed and Breakfast, Jimmy Don's shop, and may or may not have given us directions right up to Chip and Joanna's front door :)
But first, the Magnolia Bed and Breakfast! So pretty!!!
This was about 20 minutes from Waco...
Next, we drove another 15 minutes or so, and ended up at Jimmy Don's shop!!!! :)
A few of us used the toilets here, so that was fun!
We also did buy 2 iron items, nice and small!
Next, another 15 minutes or so away, and we ended up at Chip and Jo's house!!!
Avery told me to not pull up in their private drive, but why not? :)
So yes, we were this close to their house.
That gate, and a keypad entry were the only things between us!
