Honor Choir

4:16 PM

Liv decided that she was going to audition for the state honor choir this year, and she made it!

She had numerous practices during the months leading up to the concert.

Concert day, she got to spend the whole day at the University with all these kiddos, singing!

Us adults got to attend their concert in the evening, and it was sooooo pretty!

Miss S....we just think she is wonderful!!!

So proud of our girl!  Hope she keeps up with music!!!

end of January

9:59 PM

This is how we all felt when we had to be back to "life" on Monday....

Finn got his class picture back, and I just had to post it again, cause I just think he's so yummy!

We spent the week re-cooping from being gone.  When Saturday came, Finn and Liv wanted to do some baking!

Finn helped me mix up some homemade Chic Fil A Sauce!

And Liv wanted to bake in her easy bake oven.  I told her that she was old enough to use the real oven, and so we googled what we could make with the ingredients we had, and off we went!

She did everything herself.....I helped with only the frosting!

Finn's favorite cookie was his hand print

And Liv's was a glass slipper!

Unfortunately, the frosting didn't go as well, and they ended up looking like crud, but tasted SUPER good!

This week, Winne got some attention.  She was cut and bathed, and she and I both despise it.

Our friend got a sweet new baby puppy named Betsy, and the kids just LOVED her!

And, our friends new restaurant opened up so we were able to enjoy that with them!!!  So yummy!

Quick trip to Rapid City

9:48 PM

Avery had a choir thingy way over in Rapid City.  We got home from our Minneapolis vacation on Wednesday, and Thursday morning, we were off in the other direction!

Stopped for some yummy Culvers!  Don't we seem soooooo excited? ;)

West River!

Had to stop at Wall Drug, of course!  Most things were closed, and I believe we were basically the only ones there!

Finn was so so so crabby.....poor kid was just DONE being in the car!

When we got to Rapid City, we saw a Toys R Us!  This boy had NEVER been to a store that was full of toys (at least that he can remember)

We got to stay at our pastor friends retreat up in the mountains.  It was really REALLY up there.

Off to Mount Rushmore!  I don't think the view ever gets old!

Just love this pic of Avery!  ha!

Liv wanted to have some fun....

Loved this fun tunnel on the way!

We took Avery to her choir thingy, and the rest of us went to lunch at Red Lobster!  YUMMY

We did a little bit of shopping and hanging out in Rapid City, and then we were off to Sturgis to see our friends that had moved there!  We got to spend a couple hours with them, which was so nice!

And we got to take Michelle with us back to our place for a sleepover night!!!

The girls explored a bit in the morning before we left...

This is Pastor Brandt and his wife Colleen....the ones who run the retreat center we stayed at!

We met up with our friends at a gas station on the way out of town as well! So nice to see them....

then.  6 hours of driving.....and then..............HOME! :)

January 2018

9:32 PM

We finally got around to painting Liv's new bedroom!  She picked out a peach/pink color, and so we went with it! :)

It was a long weekend of painting, but it turned out so cute!  She got LOTS of room decor for Christmas, so she was already set!

Miss Winifred always has to be in on the action

Nana Dianne and Bapa Craig came up so Daddy and I could go on a long mini-vacation from the kiddos.  January 12th, they showed up, and we took off.

This pic was taken at the gas station about 2 miles from our house.  I was missing the kids something fierce already

We went to Minneapolis, and our first stop was at our favorite burger place!!!

Off to get checked into our hotel.  I felt at home, as there was a Walmart right outside!  ha!

We went to a few stores

After a super long awful first night, we decided to postpone our first activity, and sleep in.

Sleeping in till noon was really REALLY nice!

We missed the kids sooooooooooooo much!  Sigh...

Don't think they were missing us much, as they were having a blast with Nana and Bapa!!!

Waking up to ice wasn't as nice as waking up to a sandy beach, but oh well!

We went to Chic Fil A and enjoyed that!!!

We kinda bummed around a bit, and then to our favorite friends' house for supper and hanging out!!!

We got back to the hotel late, and then the next morning, off to church at Bethlehem South!  We sat behind our friends dad!  :)

We then had a great lunch with some mentor friends, and a nice long chat about ministry and such.

The Vikings were playing, so we took off back to our friends house for the game!  Can't believe they won in the last second.....we were all in shock!!!!!

We were soooooooo tired, and went and grabbed some sonic, and went back to our hotel to meet up with our friends!!!!!

2 hours of chatting it up later, and it was off to bed! :)

The next morning, there was a bit of shopping (for me), and I brought Wendy's back up to our room!

Then, off to the pastors conference!  My goal while we were there, was to touch Paul David Tripps mustache....I was close, but I got cold feet, and it didn't happen....

We met up with our friend Josh, and Luke and Emma, and went to the Red Cow restaurant.

Drove by our favorite Orpheum on the way back to the convention center!

How beautiful was this place?

That night, we got to hear Piper, and it was really good!

Next day, off to another yummy eating destination!  After lunch, back to the conference for the rest of the day!

Our sweet mentor friends took us out to eat downtown at this high class place.  I felt so out of place!

The next morning, we were SO anxious to be home with our kiddos, that we ended up going home a tad early.....  We couldn't wait to see their faces!!!
