welcome to our home....enjoy your look around!

After almost 4 months of getting "settled", I finally went around the house and snapped some photos. I had a surprisingly hard time at first wanting to put things up on the wall since it was a new house. To my husbands dismay, I think I didn't hang a single thing for a couple months! I just couldn't decide on what to do!

After visiting our neighbors house, and seeing how gorgeous it is, I decided to just jump in and tackle it! So, I did! I am by no means a "decorator" and I don't quite know what I'm doing, but it is what it is! Decorating on a budget is the key....transforming things with spray paint and finding cheap "treasures" is how I do it! :)

So, without further ado, welcome to our new home....

I have really enjoyed being outside this summer and planting! Again, I don't know what I'm doing, and I'm symmetrical to a fault, but I like it... :)

my hubby has done an amazing job with the grass! he has taken such good care of it!

this is the north side of the house! I did all the lattice work, and I see from this photo that some of the crazy wind we have been getting here has blown it a tad...i better go fix that! :)

this is the south side of the house. the plant under the window was being thrown out downtown one day, and i just happened to be standing there as they were digging it up and said that I would gladly take it! it had a rough beginning, but it's coming around!

our living room...it would look so much homier without that TV, but we do love watching it! :)

the kitchen...we LOVE having an island. so much so, that we never eat at the actual table unless we have company!

above the kitchen sink....

dining room

hallway leading to bathroom and bedrooms...(i need to put a photo in that frame...ha ha ha)

upper/main bathroom...

the neglected master bedroom...i want to find an old door and make it into a headboard, but until then, it is what it is!

the girls' room...still hoping to paint it a robin's egg blue!!!

i love these flower things!

dresser and bulletin board!

daddy picked this saying out for them...

inside their closet is where the American Girl Dolls live! what a nice set up!

this is the girl's desk area...still trying to figure out what to do with their window. for right now, those are shams and sheets hung up there (sad, i know). Trying to think of an idea...share any you have! ;)

back at the front of the house heading downstairs...

a fun (and time consuming) photo collage i did.

downstairs living room...still trying to figure out something to go above the couch...it'll come!

this little photo display took quite a long time to plan and measure out, too! good grief!

looking into daddy's office...

he decorated the whole thing all by himself!

notice the whole row of Piper books (i'm sure just a tad of what he has) and all the NASCAR stuff...fun combination!

and his beloved George Washington picture...

the "secret hiding place" where the girls like to play, and where all the fall and Christmas decor are packed away...

downstairs guest bathroom...

the very unfinished 4th bedroom, aka playroom and guest room...

very unfinished indeed...

So, there you have it! Still some more stuff to do, but that will come in time!

"symmetrical to a fault" I can relate completely!

Loved the tour - I'm sure it was a lot of work but it sure turned out great!

I've got a few questions for you... first of all, is that your nativity scene above your microwave?? I can't tell forsure but it appears as though it could be to me... and if so, that is really stinkin cute!!! I NEVER would have thought to do that but I love it. (And if not, then call me crazy! lol) Where did you get the flower things in the girls room? Those are too precious!! The girls bedding is so cute also... where did you find that?? Your house looks so cute!!! You did a fabulous job with decorating.

Love the post, the house turned out beautiful. You are better than I am, we've been here 2 YEARS, and I have rooms I still haven't decorated. (or, decorated the way I "want" them).

Jennisa- I love the house! You have done a beautiful job decorating. I shed a little tear when I saw all the picture displays you created...what gorgeous displays of the family. And I LOVE the sayings on the wall, I think the girls will remember those very important messages all their lives. :)
