Not too much new going on with our new house. They poured lots of cement this week, so I think they are waiting for it to dry.

yes, our house sold today, and this is our new home....

Avery has a beautiful but long and skinny face...
She also has beautiful but very thin hair...
The combination of the two make for a messy combination.
She has the most beautiful curls, and I would love nothing more than for her to have the long curly locks.
But, she has thin curly locks, that are beautiful....just thin, which look horrible long.
So, I decided to cut her hair a couple nights ago. You can't really screw up curly hair, so I figured why not? I've done it before...
It turned out cute. A little shorter than I wanted, but cute. I think when I was cutting I forgot to take into account that her hair curls up much shorter when it's dry.
Anyhow, I decided tonight to straighten it and curl it, and it looks 100 times better. Looks like I'll be doing this for a couple months until it grows out a tad!
at least she's beautiful...inside and out...
I started looking today for bathing suits for Avery. I am just appalled at the kind of suits they make for little girls to wear. Actually, no one should wear suits like this, but little girls? I can't even imagine what goes into the minds of these companies as they are brainstorming their latest design choices for the upcoming years....they are definitely not thinking as we are, a conservative Midwest family. Instead, they must be thinking with the brain of a messed up sick male. Take a look at just some of the suits that are available for my 7 year old...
string bikinis....nice. I don't care if they are shorts, it's all wrong...
ooh, these ones are nice for the cleavage...of a 7 YEAR OLD GIRL....
and these, I just don't have words for. I mean, seriously...put some clothes on your sweet child.
Disney even gave in and corrupted the image of Minnie Mouse...
and these one pieces with the fashionable side cut outs...are you KIDDING me?
sigh...
looks like Avery will be seen all summer in one of these numbers...

Avery's top tooth had been loose since before Christmas, with no real sign of coming out. It started turning a tint of gray, and becoming kind of see-through, so she had it pulled today. It went really well, and she was much braver than I thought she'd be. She even said that it was easier than actually pulling it out herself!
She sure is a toothless wonder
