Homecoming!

8:13 AM

Today is "red and black" day in our city! It's homecoming, and our high school is actually playing against hubby's old high school tonight!

I guess the whole town is dressed up today! Here is Avery in her little outfit for the day!

Speaking of Homecoming, did you know that my high school had the mascot of the "hilltoppers"? At the time I wasn't embarrassed at all by how odd of a mascot it was. But now that I look at it, seriously, what on earth is a stinkin' hilltopper? Here is our mascot...the old and NEW version!

These last 2 pics are for my mom to look at....pay no attention! ;) Have a great weekend!

With all the time that Liv and I have at home....just the two of us....we've been trying to find some activities to keep us busy while Avery is in school!

Monday was "meet the potty" day. She will be 2 in October, and I do not plan on potty training my spunky little thing anytime soon, but I thought, what the hay...it will give some fun to this Monday! So, out came the potty chair and out came "Once Upon A Potty" video! I tell ya, I can probably tell you most of the lines from that movie. I think I've seen it 15 times too many...

Here is Liv, with potty next to her, and watching the potty movie (while sitting on my bed, yes. don't worry, her diaper is on).

Gotta LOVE Prudence, the little girl who got a potty from her grandma...and the little girl who has a "little hole for making poo poo"...(anyone know that line?)
Liv did climb up on the potty, with her diaper on, and had a fun little sit of it. She had in her hand, of course, a pretend phone to call....hmm...probably Nana...

Tuesday was "please child, please don't make mommy hold and entertain you all day" day. Here is Liv sitting at her desk, next to mine, working on her bills, or so it seems. This lasted for about, 5 minutes, then it was time to climb on Mommy again!

And, what else do I do during the days, you ask? Well, just today I listened as what I thought was a human being thrown at my window, but it was just a bird. The darn things have been flying into our windows a lot lately. I tried to take a picture of the feathers on the window...can you see them? I also went outside to find the body, and yes, even take a photo but the bird wasn't there. Some strong bird I guess.

Oh no she didn't....

11:05 PM

I wish I would have taken a picture. For a moment I was going to, but then I didn't want to disrupt the naked sleeping child.

We put Livvie to bed, fully clothed tonight. Daddy kissed, hugged, tucked in, and shut the door. She fussed a little bit, but she sometimes does that.

Fast forward 3 hours...I went in the girls' bedroom to check on them. I tucked Avery in, and then walked over to Liv. Sweet child of mine....she was naked!

She had thrown her pillow, diaper, pants and shirt on the floor, and there she was, laying face down, with her cute little bottom up in the air.

I had to do a double take! I laughed so hard, and then got Daddy to see what his little girl decided to do! His jaw was open wide, and we giggled at our little girl!

Luckily she didn't potty anywhere! Whew...that would have made the story much less 'cute'. I dressed her back up, and now she is back sleeping.

Silly, sweet Livvie girl!

Today is Avery's 10th day of Kindergarten. I tried to get a good photo, but this is the best one after about 5 or 6.

She LOVES school, LOVES going, and we couldn't be happier. We LOVE her teacher, LOVE her school, and are over the moon with how it's going.

She's had 2 "sad times" over these 10 days, where she has missed mommy and wanted to come home. Hopefully that will pass soon.

She did come home telling me something that I didn't like, which she learned from the girls in her class...

"Girls go to school to be more cool, boys go to Jupiter to get more stup*der"

(stup*d is a BAD word at our house, so as she was saying it, she said "upider")

Her teacher has also said what a joy it is to teach Avery, and that she is such a good reader! Things a mommy LOVES to hear! Way to go sweet Avery!

YIPPIE!!!

For those of you who DIDN'T watch last season of the Bachelorette, pay no attention to this post.
For those who DID....we all saw Jason, the father of the sweet 3 year old boy, get rejected by Deanna at the rose ceremony. Sucked....it was just awful.....

Well, ABC has named Jason the NEW BACHELOR!!! I guess the season will air in January! How very exciting!

Liv language...

1:29 PM

She's a tad slow on the talking side, but Avery was also. I have said that my kids are "fast walkers and slow talkers". This is especially true of Livvie. She wants to talk so badly, it just hasn't really clicked yet for her. Below are the words/sounds that she is saying now that we can understand!

Mama
Dada
Ya ya - Avery
Nana
Bapa
gool- girl
go gool - good girl
bah - ball
uh-oh
wow
bop - pop
bubu-water
nigh nigh - night night
num num-i'm hungry
vroom vroom - car
woof woof - puppies
neigh neigh - horse
baa baa - sheep
ooh ahh - monkey
bu buy - bye bye

Weekend rap-up

9:26 PM

Not a lot of blog-worthy things went on at our house this weekend. Lots of sleeping, staying in our pj's all day long, and snuggling was about it!

Avery had her first "homework" to do this weekend, so I just had to snap a photo of her posing with her 3 sheets of paper! They are optional to do, but I want her to get in the habit of doing what her teacher asks of her!

Did I mention that her teacher is awesome? That I LOVE that I was THAT mother, and got her into the school that I wanted for her! NO REGRETS!!!

a couple thoughts...

7:16 PM

**The deepest evil of abortion is that it defies God’s supremacy over life in the womb.

**Abortion is an assault on the person-forming work of God. Children are a gift from God. To reject them through abortion is to reject him.

What are your thoughts?

With Avery being at school all day, and with the allergy issues and the need to be by a phone at all times (plus the fact that I wanted a phone), we decided to get me a cute little cell phone! I am finally the owner of a cell phone!! Isn't she pretty? And, she's PINK! LOVE IT!!!

Tuesday happenings...

9:43 PM

Today was Avery's first FULL day at school without seeing mommy. Last week, I went both school days for lunch time to make sure everything went smoothly. Today, she did it all by herself! She did tell me she cried a little bit today because she missed me. Made my heart hurt to hear that. She also said that her friend Abby made her feel better!! Hugs to Abby!

Today was the first check out day from the Library. I had a good laugh when I looked into Avery's bag and pulled out this book...

Can you believe it? After asking her a little bit about her Library experience, we think that it was the first book that she found, and was just too nervous to look at more. So, what did Avery and I read about before bedtime tonight. Denali's, Honda's, and Harley Davidsons...chassies, shocks, brakes...I was smiling the whole time.....

Nana and Bapa came thru town today after flying in from visiting Aunt Holly and Uncle Jon. Nana bought Avery balloons last Thursday for her first day of school...how thoughtful! Nana and Bapa went with Daddy, Liv and I to pick up Avery from school today.

Tomorrow she has music and PE. She has been looking forward to music class, because she's "really into the violin"...we'll see what she actually does in music!

Nana and Bapa's visit!

12:21 PM

Nana Dianne and Bapa Craig came for a visit this weekend, and the girls were busy non stop! After school on Friday, the FUN began!

Taking a trip in the Barbie Jeep!

Livvie knows how to drive the jeep, and Bapa said that she drove it all the way to the neighbors driveway and back, with help, of course! She's nuts, I tell ya!

And, to prove to you all the point that my sweet Liv is a crazy little girl, here are 2 pictures that I (tried to) snap at dinner on Friday night.... She's moving ALL.THE.TIME!

Sunday after church, and after nap times, we went on over to Avery's school playground to PLAY!

They sure can be cute!!!

Liv LOVED to walk Mesa. She felt like such a big girl!

And here is Bapa and the dogs...pooped out from a long, FUN weekend!!!
