Want your puppy to have a cutie-patootie?

10:19 PM

Piper is not allowed in our living room very often because we don't want her to piddle on the carpet. I saw a lady on ebay selling little puppy diapers, and I just had to get Piper one. Isn't it cute?

Hers came in the mail today, and let me tell you...she doesn't like it that much, but she sure does love the play time she gets out with us in the living room! I'd say it's a success so far!

Olivia's 2 year check-up

11:45 AM

We ventured out in the cold today for her 10:30 appt., sick and all. Every year at this time I wonder the same thing....why on earth do we live where it gets this cold?

Anyhow....

Liv's stats:
Weight: 23 lbs (10%)
Height: 33 1/4 in (50%)

We have been concerned about Liv's speech, or lack there of, since her last appt at 18 mths. Today, our Dr. made her recommendation to have Liv tested in BIG TOWN for her hearing. Could be nothing, or could be that she's not hearing the high and low frequency's of our voices. She was especially concerned with the way that Liv says "yes".....

So, we'll have that appt, and then we will also be doing a program for birth-3 year old children who need help in certain areas. Liv will get speech help, I'm sure!

So, in the long run, it will all be good, but right now, we're just not sure what the problem is!

I told hubby that her not hearing well would sure be a good excuse for her being so disobedient and not listening to the word "no"! ha ha!

FINALLY! The tooth came OUT!

9:49 PM

Just for those who are just tuning in, this is what the situation was in Avery's mouth for over a week now. Her tooth was wiggly, but she was not wanting anyone in her mouth trying to get it out. AND, the new adult tooth began growing in...yuck!

Here is the finished result. I held her down (believe me, it took a lot of strength) and Nana was the "tooth puller". 3 tries, and Nana had it!

Here is what it looks like now. Man oh man I hope that Mr. adult tooth gets with it, and moves his little self up where he's suppose to be!

Avery was SO terrified of this. Nana had never seen her this crazy before. Just to prove how "possessed" Avery was, she now has a horse voice from all of the screaming she did today!

After the tears dried up, she wanted to call her teacher, Mrs. S. Then, she had to call her friend Abby from school and tell her all about it...

Call us bad parents, but we do bribe our kids sometimes. We've been telling Avery that when she lost her 1st tooth, we'd let her go to Walmart and get any toy she wanted.

She picked out the new Troy and Gabriella Prom barbie set from High School Musical 3, which we also went to today (it was fabulous!).

And, for kicks and giggles, Piper found Liv's sucky on the floor today, and I was lucky enough to have a camera handy! Too cute!

Liv's 2nd birthday!

9:04 PM

Well, Liv is 2.....she's finally 2. She's been acting like a 2 year old for many many months, but officially, she is 2. She has her 2 year check-up on Monday, so i'll be back with her stats then.

Here is how her 2nd birthday went...enjoy!

Liv got a wonderful card in the mail from Nana Judy and Bapa Ron, so she had to sit and ready it (and add her own artistic touch)!

Nana Dianne came up for her birthday, so we all went to our favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate!

Liv is trying to tell you here that she is "2" :)

We LOVE the chips and salsa!

My sweet little 2 year old Olivia!

After out to eat, we came home for presents and cake!

She LOVED all her gifts so much!

We took some photos (the girls were pretty hyper by this time)

Our family....all 5 of us!

Liv blowing out her candle on her big cookie cake!

In all of the cakes I have made for the girls birthdays (8 total), this is the first time that one of them actually ate it. Liv loves her chocolate!

What else for party decorations would we have, but horses of course!

Hope you all had a wonderful "Livvie's birthday"!

Dear Olivia,

It was 2 years ago today, that we welcomed you into our family. You were wanted and prayed for for years before you came to be. Mommy and Daddy tried for almost 3 years to give Avery a brother or sister, so when we found out that you were here, we were so very thankful.

The night before you were born I didn't sleep a wink. We were in a hotel so we could get to the hospital bright and early for your birth. I was up all night tossing and turning wondering how the day was going to go.

Liv, your birthday was a wonderful experience. There was little to no pain, and it was the most joyous time. You were born with no complications, and we were able to take you right with us to our room. We stayed in the hospital for only 2 days, 'cause your mommy just wanted to be home and out of that small hospital room we had!

We brought you home, and then it hit....you were ours....our dream of having another child was now a reality. There were 2 car seats now, and 2 small little white beds, and 2 sizes of adorable girl clothing.

Liv, the last 2 years haven't been all roses. Mommy has had a harder time adapting to having a more, how should I put it, "busy" child. You are such a bundle of energy, all day long. You are so sweet, and you love to give out hugs and kisses all of the time. You keep us on our toes, that's for sure, but ya know what....we wouldn't have it any other way, because then you wouldn't be "Liv".

Right now you love horses, puppies, Dora, chocolate, pringles, shoes, bags, and the list goes on and on. You are such a special little girl, and we are so glad you are ours.

Happy 2nd birthday Olivia Lynn. We thank God for His gift of you...

Avery's funnies....been a while, hasn't it?

8:56 PM

#1
Avery drops her bowl of animal crackers on the floor....

Avery: "Oh no...I dropped my crackers Mommy!"
Me: "Okay, just pick them up and put them back in the bowl please."
Avery: "Okay. Picking up after yourself is being a "good citizen". {smile}

#2
Avery wants a cup of Sprite before bedtime....

Avery: "Mom, is it too late to have Sprite?"
Me: "Yes. It's actually past your bedtime, young lady."
Avery: "But Mom, I really want to have sprite!"
Me: "I know, but my answer is no. You need to go to bed."
Avery: (pretending to cry) "But Mom, that's not what Mrs. S says at school."
Me: "Um, what did you say?"
Avery: "Well, uh, when I drop my tissue into the trash, and I need to get another one, she just says 'go ahead and get another one Avery'."
Me: (hmmm...trying to think of how this even relates) "Avery, how about some juice instead?"
Avery: "Alright...I guess juice will be fine."

Tidbits from happenings around our house:

10:35 PM

Avery has learned from kids at school, that boys indeed have "wien*rs". It's so sad that she has to be around children that speak like this. It makes me wonder what she hears that she doesn't tell me about. I guess it's all part of "growing up", but gee whiz, I sure wish it wasn't.

Liv is turning 2 on Friday....I can't believe that she will ONLY be 2! It seems like she's been around for a lot longer than that! Not quite sure what we'll be doing to celebrate, but I'm sure we'll think of something! She LOVES horses and DORA right now, so some combination of that and she'll be a happy camper!

Avery was sick 2 days last week from school. Now Liv and hubby are sick with the cold, so I'm sure I'll be dealing with the "man cold" moanings and groanings!

Hubby and I decided that we need to stop with all the fast food/going out that we've been doing. It's sickening how much money has been wasted, so we're going to try our best to stick to only going out on occasions.

To prove that we frequent a certain Mexican restaurant a lot, here is proof.....our favorite waiter invited us to his daughter's 2nd birthday party that was on Sunday! How funny! Avery and I went, and it's CRAZY how big a deal a birthday is in the Mexican tradition! They had clown DJ's and like 50 people there! Lots of family and lots of celebrating!

Piper has been with us now for 2 weeks. She is no where near a pro at the potty training, but I'm not giving up. She goes every time she's outside, she just has to learn to not go on our kitchen floor, and to use her potty pad. GRRR....I'm sick of cleaning up potty!

I'm designing a blog for another very well known Christian Author, and it has been such a joy to work with her. When it's all said and done, I'll let you know all about it!

OH, and October is Pastor Appreciation Month. If you haven't taken the time to drop your pastor a note, or give a gift, please do. As a Pastor's Wife, I am all to aware of the demands that our Pastors have...the late hours, the weird schedule, the constant 'on call'..... Please, take the time to let them know they are appreciated! :) Thanks!

Not Me Monday...short and sweet...

9:01 AM

I am not sitting here on the computer while my almost 2 year old is eating m&m's by the handful.

I am not google-ing how to get my daughter's tooth out with the least traumatic experience possible.

Avery has had a loose tooth for a couple weeks now. She has been slowly wiggling it, and I thought we were doing everything right...letting it come out when it was ready.

BUT, then I looked in there today, and this is what I saw....her other tooth is popping through WAY behind and crooked! Look at that big thing! good grief! What am I supposed to do???? Please tell me this is normal? If not, tell me that too! The poor tooth doesn't seem like it will be ready to come out for a couple more days! grrrrr.....I want my beautiful girl to have a beautiful smile, and I'm nervous......

curls and cute sweaters...

9:19 PM

It's amazing how much curl my little Olivia has! Here she is after bath night on Monday...LOVE those sweet curls!

I also LOVE this fun sweater that I got at Wal-mart for Piper. I just LOVE stripes, and it fits her like a glove (it is an xx-small!)

Piper also met Miley again today...our neighbor dog. Piper is a bit timid, so she was rather scared of Miley. I can't believe that my little puppy is going to grow up and be Miley's size in some months!!!

Oh, and if you're curious at all about where Piper spends most of her time....below is your answer...

in my lap...all the time...:)
